VCBS provides progressive developmental and competitive softball programs for children ages 4-16.
Eligibility for our programs is based upon the child's "league age" which, in accordance with the national governing organizations for baseball and softball, differ for boys entering baseball programs and girls entering softball programs.
"League age" for softball programs is the girl's age as of January 1st. This tends to cause quite a bit of confusion:
For example: a girl born between Jan-Apr of 2013 has a league age of four, despite the fact that she will turn five years old before the 2018 softball season begins. She should be registered in the Skills & Drills program and will be eligible to play in the T-Ball league next year.
Likewise, a girl born between Jan-Apr of 2005, IS eligible to play in the 12 and under Majors league, despite the fact that she will turn 13 years old before the season begins.
To ensure fairness for all, VCBS will only allow players to participate in leagues for which they are "league age" eligible.
